Maritimes, Part 5

We headed to Peggy's Cove near the historic town of St. John's, Nova Scotia.  Peggy's Cove is a fishing village on the Atlantic, or east side of Nova Scotia.    The village was quaint and situated on the along coast.

Driving through the countryside was on narrow roads with houses and business located close to the highway.

We stayed at Peggy's Cove Campground.  The location was well suited for visiting Peggy's Cove and for a day trip into St. John's to visit the Citadel and the wharfs district downtown.  Mother nature proved that "fog" was in the air.  Peggy's Cove is known for extremely foggy weather during the summer. (Great hair day..)

We were getting ready to depart and "Lucky" wanted to see what all the noise was about.  Lucky, our Schipperke, and Daisy, our miniature poodle traveled  with us.  We move as a family.

We are boarding a bus for a tour to Peggy's Cove Lighthouse and St. John's.  A process that Tracks uses for seating Trackers on the tour buses is to use a deck of cards that we all draw from.  The number on the card would indicate which seat you sat in and the color indicated which side of the bus.  It was a fair way of seating people.  It seems we mostly had high numbers which ment we sat in the back of the bus.

The images  below show the history of Peggy's Cove lighthouse.  It was very interesting.  Take the time to read and I think you will agree. (Double click on the pix to enlarge.)

A memorial was carved in a huge rock near the lighthouse site.  It was a tribute to fishermen who lost their lives.
